How Diamond Painting Works
Four steps, one calm rhythm.
Diamond painting is simple to learn and easy to lose an evening to. Each kit contains a printed canvas marked with a grid of symbols, small faceted diamonds sorted by colour, a pen-style applicator and a little wax to hold it. Here is the whole of it:
- Choose a section. Peel back a portion of the protective film to expose the adhesive beneath.
- Match the symbol. Each symbol on the canvas corresponds to one diamond colour, listed on the legend.
- Place the diamond. Touch the pen to the wax, lift a diamond, and press it onto its square. It holds instantly.
- Watch it emerge. Work colour by colour or area by area. The image resolves as you go.
There is no skill to master and nothing to rush. Round diamonds place a little faster and give a softer finish; square diamonds sit edge-to-edge for a crisper, fuller look. When you are done, the canvas is ready to frame.
