Size is the single most important choice you make when buying a diamond painting — more than the frame, more even than the subject. Because every diamond is the same physical size, a larger canvas holds more of them, and more diamonds mean more detail.
The simple rule
The more detail your image needs, the larger you should go. A bold, graphic design works at almost any size. A face, a busy landscape or fine botanical detail needs room to resolve.
A guide by size
- 30×40 cm — simple, single subjects and first projects.
- 40×50 and 50×50 cm — the comfortable middle; most designs suit this.
- 40×60 and 40×80 cm — landscapes and wider scenes.
- 60×80 cm and up — portraits, detailed scenes and statement pieces.
Faces need size
Portraits are the clearest case. At small sizes, the eyes and mouth have too few diamonds to look convincing, and features flatten. For any face, we recommend 50×50 cm or larger.
Think about the wall
